Boulder Flood Relief Work

Hey guys!

Father and son fly fishing trip this weekend. Still a few spots open! Call me for details 303 842 1771

After that, I would love for us to help in the flood relief. I have several connections to families that need help with physical labor and I would love for a group of us to serve together. We will also be indoor rock climbing next week and will let you know dates and times of that!

Please watch this video.

A Higher Road

Have you ever signed up for something without fully understanding the commitments involved? Sometimes, you never expect the struggle or the joy when life brings these surprises our way.

Yesterday I chose to bike from Winter Park to Boulder. I was told it would be a 3 hour ride with clear skies. Starting the bike ride was wonderful, my legs felt alive and my soul even more so. 3 hours in, we had only reached the top of the mountain, then came the descent...

After 2 painful hours of bouncing over rocks, my hands and forearms were screaming with pain, and I found myself angry at God. God why did you let this happen to me? Why isn't this easier? Why didn't you tell me this would happen?

Have you ever asked questions like this?

Most of us have. These questions usually arise out of great pain and confusion. So does God have a plan for everything in our lives?

Isaiah 55:8-9 says, "For my thoughts are not your thoughts,    neither are your ways my ways,”
declares the Lord.“As the heavens are higher than the earth,    so are my ways higher than your ways    and my thoughts than your thoughts."

When we find ourselves doubting God's sovereignty, we must remember that sometimes things happen to us that we don't understand, but these things will always turn out for the good because GOD IS GOOD.

I learned that the pain of my body allowed a beautiful memory to be created between myself and the friends I was biking with. We will forever remember the 3 hours of rain, mud, rocks, and muscle soreness which will always remind us of how God gave us that opportunity to grow closer to each other and to Him.

May we ask Him for perspective no matter what trouble is in our lives.

Who will carry you?

Hey guys!

We are fresh out of cheese sticks and we just finished refilling the porta potties with toilet paper. We are also amazed at the response of service and acts of leadership that we saw in you all. The best part about camp wojtyla is that camp isnt over. As of today, we begin to grow through the adventure of discipleship of rooted!

Two to three times a week we will be going through a devotional together that will focus on the humor and the struggle of our lives as men.

Today we begin in Mark 2, you can go to the passage here

http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Mark%202&version=NRSV

I find it interesting that the paralyzed man had given up on hope in his life. He was stuck to his mat for his whole life and he saw no way to find joy. I can imagine the crowds of people rushing towards the house to see Jesus as the paralyzed man lay in sorrow. Thankfully he had a few friends who cared about him. His four friends pick him up and carry him to the house only to find it is too crowded. Do they give up? No! They climbed the roof, ripped it off and lowered him down on Jesus. This is the most important part of the scene. What does Jesus say in verse 5?

When Jesus saw their faith, he said to the paralytic, “Son, your sins are forgiven.”

He didnt look at the paralyzed man and affirm him for his faithfulness or his devotion, he looked at the man's friends and noticed their faith which saved their paralyzed friend.

So what does this mean for us?

Have you ever felt paralyzed spiritually or emotionally? Like you just cant move on? You see no hope in the difficult situation you are in?

What do you do when you find yourself down and out?

The important question to ask is, do you have friends around you who will carry you through the hard times? If you dont, you can decide right now to build new friendships with people who care about you for who you are, not what you look like or what you do.

I invite you to comment so we may continue the camp experience through the summer! I will post the video tomorrow!!! so tell all your friends to check it out!
